Betty Stogs is an award-winning, copper-coloured bitter brewed since 1997 using Cornish water; whole-flower Celeia, Northdown and Aurora hops; Cornish malted barley and wheat; and Skinner’s unique yeast.
Betty Stoggs was a native of West Cornwall. She was unkempt and lazy, could never mend her stockings, couldn’t knit or cook and liked a drop of ale. Her child was taken from her by the “small people” washed in the morning dew and returned. The shock of which turned Betty into a reformed character. Sort of!!
She's a classic pale amber mid strength bitter with distinct hoppy overtones. A beautifully balanced quaffing ale. Serve chilled if preferred. Contains Cornish malted barley and wheat.
Betty Stoggs won the Champion Best Bitter of Great Britain award in the 2008 Great British Beer Festival at Earl’s Court.
