Cheron Chambolle Musigny

Chambolle-Musigny

£59.95

On the nose, the wine is highly expressive and perfumed, opening with notes of ripe red berries complemented by floral hints of violet and rose, alongside subtle undertones of spice and a light earthy complexity. There is a natural freshness, with a purity that reflects both the vintage and the careful élevage, where oak is used judiciously to support rather than dominate the fruit.

The palate is silky and refined, with a supple texture and finely woven tannins that are characteristic of Chambolle-Musigny. Medium-bodied in style, it offers vibrant red fruit flavours layered with gentle spice and a touch of minerality, all lifted by a bright, well-balanced acidity. The finish is long, elegant, and harmonious, leaving a lingering impression of freshness and subtle complexity.

Ideal with roast chicken, duck breast, veal, pork tenderloin, and mushroom-based dishes, as well as more refined preparations such as rabbit or light game with age.

Domaine Philippe Chéron is a small, family-run estate based in Nuits-Saint-Georges in Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits, led by Philippe Chéron, who took over the family vineyards and began bottling under his own label in 2011. The domaine spans around 10 hectares across prestigious appellations including Vosne-Romanée, Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, and Clos de Vougeot. Working primarily with old-vine Pinot Noir, Chéron follows a low-intervention, sustainable approach in both vineyard and cellar, favoring native yeast fermentations and gentle extraction to preserve terroir expression. The wines are known for their purity, elegance, and structural finesse, reflecting both the heritage of the vineyards and a modern, precise winemaking style.
