Cassara, Grllo Bio, 2021
Grillo is one of the main native white grape varieties of Sicily. From typical straw yellow with a hint of green, a full and intense floral scent rich with ripe fruit. A fruity and fragrant wine offering a refreshing pineapple, tangerine, and lemon fruit profile. Round on the palate, it has an easy drinking feel and a clean, mineral finish.
Ideal as a refresher aperitif and with light first courses, shellfish, smoked salmon, meats, and fish soups.
It is in Alcamo, a city with a great winemaking tradition in the north-western coastal strip of Sicily, where the Antonello Cassarą company produces authentic Sicilian wines. Antonello Cassarą's factory, immersed in the greenery of its vineyards, in a combination of nature and technology, is located in Contrada Fiume, named after the Cold River, that laps its lands. A small chapel dedicated to the Madonna del Fiume delimits its southern border. Around a hilly landscape, designed according to a geometric pattern, in which the human elements blend perfectly with the natural ones. As in a painting, a few rustic buildings here and there harmonize with the vines that colour the sunny hills caressed now by the African sirocco and by the light sea breeze.
