Domain Jean Chauvenet Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Bousselots
Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru
£52.95
The "Les Bousselots" appellation displays an intense hue. Early in its aging, this wine does not readily reveal its character. As years pass, aromas become more expressive and incorporate touches of fresh leather, animal perfumes, mixed with elegant balsamic and licorice scents.
Body and suppleness envelop the tannins, creating a fine label with an appealing sensation.
Ideal with roasts, game dishes and meats cooked in sauce, as well as gourmet cheeses. Its savors may be appreciated after aging at least 5 years, yet they continue to mature for a good ten years more.
Domaine Jean Chauvenet is a well-regarded family estate based in Nuits-Saint-Georges in the Côte de Nuits. Founded in 1969 and now run by Christophe and Christine Drag, the domaine is known for producing classic, terroir-driven Pinot Noir with a strong focus on purity, finesse, and respect for site expression.
With holdings of around 9 hectares across several premier appellations, including multiple Premier Cru sites, the estate reflects a traditional Burgundian approach combined with careful vineyard management and low-intervention winemaking. The wines are typically structured and age-worthy, while retaining elegance, freshness, and expressive fruit character.
